This refers to a vertical length of architrave on the new kitchen door frame I have just installed. The frame is dead square and the door works fine. But - one edge of the door frame is against a wall which is very uneven so the architrave I have bought needs to be trimmed along the edge against the wall.
I know there is a technique for scribing horizontal worktops to take up undulations in the abutting wall but i have'nt got any tools to do this. Is there a trick of the trade I can use to...

I'm looking for advice regarding making and installing a polished concrete worktop. I'm currently I'm just looking into this as I know its a lot of hard work but I think the pay off is worth it. I've read a few articles online regarding the process but I thought I'd just ask here in case anyone has given it a go.

Kitchen Design Help?!

Due to substandard building work on our kitchen/diner 3 years ago, we are now having to have our kitchen floor completely taken out and re-done!

While this is going to be taking place we have decided to put in a new handmade bespoke or German kitchen.

Our current Kitchen functions well in terms of movement but in terms of design and storage, we want it change it around completely.

We are also taking advantage of having this building work to put in a dedicated utilities room.

Need Help Moving Some Units

Hi

Happy New Year to you all.

I had a kitchen fitted about 5 years ago. A wall behind some corner base units is very cold (no cavity) and attracts condensation making the cupboards cold and damp.

I would like to move the base units away, fit polystyrene insulation board to the wall and have the units fitted again.

I would normally do this myself but the work top is very heavy and in two parts (round the corner) and I'm unsure of how to tackle it. Is this the kind of job I could ask a...

A question for you kitchen fitters, I'm in a rented property being here 7 years and the edging of the breakfast bar has peeled off and where It has being one of them jobs where I say to myself "I will sort it at the weekend" then it never got done. The edge is now chipped/peeled in places where it has being left.

I am assuming it is just a edging tape of some description, but I just can't find anywhere that sell the stuff in this colour.

This are the best photo's I could get but it's...

Hello Screwfix Community,

I am installing upstands and have run into a bit of a problem. My walls have been plastered and are uneven. They have also been painted.

I have tried gluing the upstands on and pressing very hard, but after 24 hours left to cure, it has just come away from the wall.

The product used to glue was No More Nails Original.

Can anyone provide any advice as to how to attach this securely? I have attached a picture which should hopefully help. Many thanks in advance....

can you join a certain make of undermount solid surface sink to a different make of solid surface worktop..?
eg. i want to glue a mistral sink to a corian or hanex worktop, will this be okay and whats the best glue to use?
ive used corian glue on avonite and staron tops before and it seems just as good as avonite/staron glue.

Hi
I am now confused! I am doing my first kitchen worktop using square edge Black Sparkle worktop. The plan is to form an L by butting two pieces instead of using mitres, with Colorfill between the faces and clamps below.
I know that the first job is likely to be put down to experience! Would welcome comments from people with experience.

I first cut one piece, face down, close to the needed length using a circular saw with a 40T blade, having first put tape on the work surface. This...

Fitting cabinet hinges.

Hi,

I'm sure I'm just being a bit thick, but I'm having trouble fitting the hinges provided with the Screwfix units.

Fitting to the carcass in the pre-drilled holes is straight forward, and there's a neatly bored hole in the door to take the hinges, but I can't work out how to secure them.

Any advice will be very much appreciated.

IKEA Faktum Kitchen Base Units - are they compatible

We are re-doing are kitchen, and the Ikea Faktum base units we have installed are only 4 years old. We can no longer buy anything from Ikea for these units as they've changed to a new system :(

I was looking at the Wren kitchen installation guides and cabinets at the front sides and bases look very similar. They look like they use the same clip on door hinges and the holes up the sides look identical, as do the feet. I don't know if they all confirm to EU standard with this type of thing...
