Gap between worktop and wall

Hi

So I had a new kitchen fitted a couple of weeks ago and due to have it tiled in a couple of weeks. There is a gap between the wall and the worktop and I questioned the fitter about the amount of gap there was. It’s on a chimney breast so goes round a corner. He said that because I am having it tiled, it would be covered and that the tiler will pack it out a little when he tiles.
