Hi,
I've got a small utility space that's about 1.5 m wide. I've got the boiler, gas meter, and a cupboard on the wall and washing machine on the floor.
I want to put a work surface across this space. All the pipe work means there'd be a 10cm gap between the surface and the wall (which I'll box off), and I couldn't use brackets off the nice strong brick wall.
The walls at either end are plaster. Would battens screwed to the wall be strong enough to support this length? I'd put a leg or two...
