Induction Hob Clearance with Upstand

Hi there, I've seen some recommendations for clearance around an induction hob. 30 to 50 mm? However my fitter has left zero clearance at the back. To me it isn't aesthetically pleasing but is it ok from an installation perspective?

And yes he had plans and knew there would be an upstand. Some pics attached. Thanks as always for any advice.
