I've recently had a kitchen installed and a large 6 burner gas hob has been fitted.
The burners are located directly under a ~400 year old Oak beam but the clearance is well within regulatory specifications with 1200mm clearance between the burners and the beam.
However, I am worried that, over time, the burners will degrade the beam either aesthetically or structurally. Perhaps I am being paranoid.
Is there a paint or treatmeant I can apply to the Oak beams to protect them from the...
