I am unable to fit a ceiling extractor fan due to the joists being in the way. I had intended to box out the extractor fan in a bulk head to allow for this but the architect says I will have too much ceiling level changes and it will not look nice.
So I only have two options for cooker extraction.
1) Downdraft extraction built into the hob.
2) Make use of the extraction fan attached directly to the wall with no ducting. Please see drawing below, highlighted in yellow....
