when to cut ducting hole for cooker hood.

Hi,

I bought an integrated fan extractor cooker hood for my kitchen. I am wondering if I should cut ducting hole on the wall before or after plastering? If I cut the hole now, it may not be in the exact location for cooker hood because all the units aren't up yet and there might be several cm off. Is ducting pipe usually flexible?
